Food Wall Restaurant

1572 Norman Street: I started an officer career today on elite setting in the original SWAT 4 game. Whereas the maps for the original are available using The Stetchkov Syndicate expansion pack, I can’t seem to manage to start an original career mission in the game.

You can play the original maps in multiplayer and also through the quick mission maker dialog (using campaign objectives even), but cannot do an officer career in with the original missions in the expansion pack.

I take an MP5 for myself and equip the head of each element with a Pepper-ball gun, and the second of each element with a less lethal shotgun. We all take a common support package: Taser stun gun, two flash bangs, a stinger grenade, a door wedge and an Optiwand.

The Food Wall Restaurant is a nasty little affair in a ghetto back alley area that would make you puke if you actually saw it in real life. In this mission there is only one choice to spawn, and that is side one, level one. You can take your team either through the front or around back from the starting point.

I have the full element go to the front, stack up and mirror under the door even though they can see through the broken glass somewhat. I order a flash bang and clear, which means that was probably the most light and people the eating area has seen at one time…ever.

I was surprised at just how easy this mission was – the only tense moment came when we were at the end door by stairs to the second floor when a tango came out and actually pointed a pistol at the lead element before being nailed with a shotgun blast.

We then moved upstairs, unlocked flash banged and cleared the room to seize the MAC-10 machine pistol to secure the last objective and win the match at 100% for a Chief Inspector rating.

  1. This campaign was abandoned due to the files being lost during a system upgrade: I intend to re-launch this campaign in the future with short consolidated posts to cover those missions already blogged about, and to pick up where I left off with full blog installments.
